Uniterra is a leading Canadian international development programme, undertaken with the financial support from the Government of Canada, provided through Global Affairs Canada.

The programme is jointly led by two well renowned and trusted international non-governmental organisations: WUSC and CECI (Centre for International Studies and Cooperation). In the over 10 years since its inception, the programme has developed successful relationships and operations in Asia, Africa and the Americas.

Uniterra believes that women and youth are a driving force for socio-economic development.  The programme has, therefore, been using volunteering and partnerships to support increased empowerment, employment and incomes for youth and women.

The current phase of Uniterra (2015 – 2020) in Vietnam focuses on two sectors – Tourism and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) – across nine provinces in Vietnam (Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hue, Binh Thuan, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Thap, Tra Vinh, Vinh Long and Kien Giang).

Uniterra 3 will utilise an inclusive market systems approach to improve the economic and social well-being of over 200,000 young people and women (aged from 18 to 24) by facilitating access to better jobs and income-generating opportunities in the tourism and ICT sectors.
